Covid-19 Case Identified At QUB
Queen's University Belfast is working with the Public Health Agency to establish who has been in contact with an infected individual within the community.
The confirmation of two new cases on Wednesday and a further four across the border brings totals on the island of Ireland to nine.
Lecturers at the Belfast university are continuing as normal this week as the individual receives medical attention following the 'presumptive positive' test result for the infection.
A statement issued by Queen's said they are working with the PHA to "take all appropriate steps to contain any further spread of the virus and protect the welfare of all within the wider University community".
The total number of patients in Northern Ireland with the illness reached three on Wednesday, while four additional cases brought totals in the Republic of Ireland to six.
