East Belfast Security Alert 'Nothing Untoward'
A security alert that closed a busy road in east Belfast on Thursday evening has been declared as "nothing untoward".
Residents on the Belmont Road were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was discovered under a vehicle at Strathearn School.
It's understood to have been found under a teacher's car.
Police cordoned off the road while ATO officers examined the object which was later declared safe.
The route has since reopened and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
Police have thanked members of the public for their patience.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Co Antrim Security Alert Declared A Hoax
A security alert in the County Antrim village of Ballycarry has been declared a hoax. The Island Road was closed in both directions for some time on Thursday 08 August following the discovery of a suspicious object. ATO were tasked to the scene and later confirmed the alert as a hoax.
