Two Arrested Over L'Derry Attack

Police have made three arrests in connection with a serious assault over the weekend in the Clon Daragh area of L'Derry.

Two males, aged 17 and 19, and a 20 year-old female were detained on suspicion of a number of offences on Monday 24 February.

It follows an attack on Saturday 23, shortly before 2pm, when two women and a man were attacked after an altercation involving a silver Audi A3.

It's understood the women had challenged the erratic manner in which the car was being driven when six attackers set upon their Seat Toledo vehicle.

A male in his 30s attempted to intervene and was also assaulted by the group before they fled in the Audi.

All three victims received treatment for their injuries, with one woman having sustained facial wounds due to broken glass.

PSNI Inspector Yvonne McManus reiterated an appeal for information. Officers are especially keen to speak to anyone who may have captured dash-cam or mobile phone footage.

Detectives can be contacted on non-emergency line 101 quoting reference 941 22/02/20.
