Masked Men Fire Shots At House In Coleraine

Police say it is fortunate no one was injured after masked men fired shots at a house in Coleraine.

The pair targeted a house in the Loughanhill Park area of the town at around 11.30pm on Sunday 09 February.

It's understood a number of shots were fired.

Inspector Martin Mullan said: "We are extremely lucky that no-one was injured as a result of this incident which occurred in a residential area. Whoever carried out this reckless act showed a total disregard for both those inside the property and local residents."

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to contact officers in Coleraine on 101 quoting reference 1782 of 09/02/20 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Three Police Officers Injured In Belfast Incident
A 35-year-old man has been arrested following an incident in which three police officers were assaulted in the early hours of this morning, Friday 13 December. The incident occurred around 12:20 AM on Dublin Road. When officers attempted to speak to the driver of a suspicious vehicle, he assaulted them and drove off a short distance.

NIFRS Urges Public To Prioritise Fire Safety This Festive Season
With the festive season approaching, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is urging households to prioritise fire safety. "While it's a time for joy, family and festive cheer, the increased use of decorations, lights, candles and heating in our homes means it's also a time of heightened fire risk," said a spokesperson for NIFRS.
