Bomb found at retired prison officer's home
A suspicious object has been found at the home of a retired prison officer in east Belfast.
A controlled explosion was carried out on the device, which was found at the house on Ashbrook Drive off the Holywood Road on Tuesday morning.
The device has been taken away for examination, however it is thought to have been a hoax.
The object was discovered by a friend of the householder who immediately alerted police.

Viable Device Found Near Police Officer's Home
A viable device has been discovered near to the home of a police officer in Dungiven, L'Derry. The woman targeted is a member of staff and also serves as a part-time PSNI officer. First Minister Arlene Foster said she "condemned those responsible".

Device Found Outside PSNI Officer's Home In L'Derry
A number of homes have been evacuated after a device was found outside the home of a serving police officer in L'Derry. The device was discovered under a car in the Culmore area on Wednesday, 22 February. Army bomb disposal experts are currently at the scene which has been sealed off.

Suspicious device found at Sinn Fein member's home
A Sinn Fein councillor and his family have been evacuated from their home in County Tyrone after a suspicious device was found. Army bomb experts carried out a controlled explosion after the device was discovered outside Ivan Barr's home in the Bridge Street area of Strabane at 8.30pm last night. The object was later declared to be a hoax.

'Bugging device' found at home of Sinn Féin worker
A "sophisticated bugging device" has been found at the home of a Sinn Féin worker in west Belfast, it has been claimed today. The device, which was found by workmen in the home of a woman who works at party president Gerry Adams' constituency office, allegedly contained of a number of battery packs, along with a microphone and transmitter.

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
