Three Charged As Drugs Seized In East Belfast

Detectives from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force have charged three men after drugs were discovered during searches in east Belfast and Newtownards.

The raids on Thursday 12 December were part of investigations into the ongoing criminal activities of the east Belfast UVF.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £150,000 and a large quantity of cash was seized, along with two vehicles and a quantity of suspected class A controlled drugs.

Three men, aged 44, 48 and 71 were charged with drug related offences. They are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday 09 January 2020.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS, as is normal procedure.

Man Charged After Three Men Collapse In Belfast
A man has been charged in connection with drugs offences after three men collapsed in Belfast city centre over the weekend. The three males were found unconscious in the Donegall Pass area on Saturday, 10 December. Emergency services attended the scene and they were taken to hospital.

Prison Officer Arrested In Drugs Bust
A prison officer has been arrested while on duty at Maghaberry jail on suspicion of drugs offences. The warder was detained on Monday at the prison and was then handcuffed and led away by detectives. His east Belfast home was extensively searched by police during the day after rest rooms used by staff serving at the prison were also searched.

Four Charged With Drugs Offences
Four people have been charged with class A drugs offences following arrests made on Friday (30 August). Two men, aged 54 and 20, and a 42-year-old woman who are all from Liverpool, and a 35-year-old man from Antrim have been charged with the possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Two Men Charged Over East Belfast Robberies
Two men have been charged in connection with two robberies in east Belfast. The incidents happened at two commercial premises on the Albertbridge Road at 11:35am and 11:50am on Tuesday, 12 April. The suspects, aged 29 and 33, are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court later today, 14 April.
