Shot Fired At House In Co Tyrone

A man has escaped injury after a shot was fired at a house in Coalisland, Co Tyrone.

The incident took place in Pinebank Gardens shortly before 9pm on Sunday night, 08 December.

The front window of the house was damaged, however a man who was inside at the time was uninjured.

Sinn Fein's Francie Molloy condemned the attack: "This gun attack on a house in Coalisland was wrong and I condemn it utterly.

"Thankfully no one was injured in this incident but it must have been a frightening experience.

"There is no place for guns in our society and those behind this attack need to end these futile actions immediately."

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or noticed any vehicles being driven in a suspicious manner is urged to contact police on non-emergency line 101. Information can also be provided via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The popular festival of hot Americana, ChilliFest, has announced it will be back in Custom House Square, Belfast for 2011. Taking place under a (hopefully) blazing June sun from 25 June - 26 June, the festival is part of the annual Open House Festival in the city Belfast.

Belfast Hotel Plan Dropped: Report
A government-supported plan to build a hotel in central Belfast has been scrapped, the BBC has reported. Back in 2007, the Department for Social Development appointed Tullymore House Ltd as preferred developer for Armagh House in the city’s Ormeau Avenue, with plans to convert the building into an upmarket hotel.
