Man Critical Following L'Derry Assault
A man is in critical condition following a serious assault in L'Derry.
The 28 year-old was attacked in a house in the Cornshell Fields area of the city this morning, Monday 02 December.
The incident occurred shortly after 2am, leaving the victim hospitalised for treatment to potentially life threatening injuries, where his condition is described as critical.
Three other men and two women were also in the house at the time, however no one else has been injured.
Four males, who are believed to have been involved in the incident, are reported to have made off in a grey coloured Volkswagen Golf.
Detective Sergeant Richard Donnell has appealed for anyone who saw the assault or a car matching the description in the area to contact investigating officers in Strand Road on 101, quoting reference 107 of 02/12/19.
Information can also be provided in confidence via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police discovered the man with serious injuries to his face and body at a house in Orangefield Close at 11.50pm on Sunday night, 29 April. The man, understood to be aged in his 30s, is in a critical condition in hospital.

Man Critical After Belfast Assault
Police say a man is in critical condition after he was assaulted at his flat in Belfast City Centre. The 37-year-old sustained his injuries during the incident in his Great Victoria Street flat at around 6am on Saturday morning, 03 August. His condition has been described as critical but stable.

Man, 31, Critical Following Assault
A 31-year-old man is said to be in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Portrush. At around 1.50am this morning (Thursday 18 December), an altercation occurred close to a takeaway restaurant in the Dunluce Avenue area of the town. A window was shattered as a result.

A footballer remains in a critical condition following an attack in Co L'Derry. Niall Grace, who plays for Institute Football Club, was assaulted in Waterloo Street at around 12.45am on Sunday, 11 September. His football club tweeted: "Our thoughts and prayers are with @Institute_FC player Niall Grace who is in hospital in a critical condition.
