Teen Girl Dies After Falling Into River

A teenage girl has died after falling into a river in Larne.

It's understood the 14 year-old fell into the water on Tuesday night, 26 November.

Emergency services scrambled to the Inver River, where a search operation was carried out.

A post-mortem is due to take place.

Larne river walk receives £20k facelift
The Riverdale area of Larne has received a £20,000 facelift thanks to the Department for Social Development’s (DSD) Local Community Fund. The once overgrown Inver River Walk has been transformed with the planting of scented wild flowers, shrubs, trees and the introduction of benches and picnic tables.

Fatal Building Site Accident Probed
Falling bricks have killed a 61-year-old man on a building site in Co Tyrone. The incident happened at a house under construction on a building site in Main Street in Fintona, County Tyrone shortly after 9am on Friday. Emergency services treated the man at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Searches Continue Following Reports Of Man Falling Into River Lagan
A search operation is underway along the River Lagan at Belfast Harbour following reports that a man fell into the water on Thursday morning. Emergency services responded to reports of concern for a man's safety who had been seen close to Lagan Weir at about 10am on 01 March.

Investigation Launched After Sudden Death Of Man In Larne
Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a man in Lane. It happened in the vicinity of the Inver River at around 7pm on Monday, 15 May, according to the PSNI. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death. No further details have been released.

Man Fined For Eight Water Pollution Offences
A County L'Derry businessman has been fined £10,000 for eight separate water pollution offences. Norman Menary (69) of Brough Road, Castledawson, Magherafelt, pleaded guilty at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ballymena.
