One Arrest Over Armed Robbery In North Belfast
A 25 year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery of an off-licence in north Belfast.
The Ballysillan Road business was targeted shortly after 10pm on Monday evening, 25 November by three males wearing balaclavas, one of whom was armed with a suspected firearm.
The suspects threatened two male staff members who were inside the property at the time before making off with a sum of money and cigarettes.
The employees were uninjured but left badly shaken by the ordeal.
A short time later, police arrested the 25 year-old man on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm or intimidation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 2067 of 25/11/19.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered during a police operation in west Belfast on the evening og Sunday, 07 July. Inspector McCullough said: "Officers carried out planned searches at two properties in the Kashmir Road area of the city – where a suspected firearm and other items were seized from one of the addresses.

A man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered by the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) in L'Derry. On Tuesday 21st May, as part of an ongoing operation, officers stopped and searched a vehicle in the Letterkenny Road area of the city at approximately 6.45pm – recovering a suspected firearm and ammunition.
