Woman Dies In A1 Road Crash
A 75 year-old woman has been killed in a collision on the A1 carriageway near Banbridge.
Police said she was driving a red Citröen C1 southbound when the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, 24 November.
No other vehicles were involved.
The A1 was closed for a number of hours in the southbound direction but has since reopened.
Alliance Cllr for Banbridge Brian Pope has expressed sympathy following the death.
"My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victim of this road traffic incident," he said
"I urge anyone with information on this incident or who noticed anything in the area at the time to contact police immediately."
The PSNI has appealed to anyone who was travelling on the route at the time and witnessed the accident or has dash cam footage to get in touch, quoting reference 844 of 24/11/19.

Traffic: M2 Crash Causing Long Tailbacks
The PSNI has warned of long motorway delays this morning following a crash on the M2. The incident happened between Antrim and Glengormley during the Monday rush hour. A police spokesperson said: "Motorists should expect long tailbacks on the M2 motorway heading southbound following a road traffic collision between Antrim and Glengormley.

West Midlands Police To Investigate Incident Involving Police Ombudsman
The PSNI have asked West Midlands Police to investigate an alleged domestic incident at the home of Police Ombudsman Marie Anderson. It is understood that officers attended a "report of a domestic incident" at an address in Co Down on Saturday, September 23, at around 6.30pm.

Police link hostage incident to attack on police station
Police have linked a gun attack on a police station on Wednesday night with a hostage incident in Co Antrim. A van used in the shooting of Randalstown PSNI station on Wednesday evening is believed to have been the vehicle stolen earlier in the evening from a family who were held hostage by a gang of men at a house in Craigstown Road in the town.

Three Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Police Officers In Strabane
Three people have been arrested in Strabane in connection with the attempted murder of two police officers in the town in November 2022. Detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit arrested two women, aged 25 and 27, and one man, aged 51, under the Terrorism Act. They have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
