Homes Evacuated In Newry Security Alert
A number of homes have been evacuated during a security alert in Newry.
A police cordon was established in Violet Hill Avenue following a report of a suspicious object in the area at around 3.45pm on Sunday 24 November.
A small number of homes were evacuated and the cordon erected, covering the junction of College Gardens.
No main roads were closed.
PSNI Inspector Ryan Moore said: "I want to thank the community for their patience as we work to make the area safe."

Homes Evacuated During L'Derry Security Alert
A number of homes have been evacuated during a security alert in L'Derry. The incident happened when a man reported that a "suspicious object" was thrown at his house on Heron Way at about 10.30pm on Monday, 21 August. Police discovered the object in the front garden of his house.

Homes Evacuated In Co Down Arson Attack
A number of homes in County Down were evacuated overnight after a car was targeted in an arson attack. Police are investigating after a BMW 5 series, which was parked outside a house in Burren Meadows in Newcastle, was deliberately set alight at around 1.30am this morning, Tuesday 09 April.
