NI star to remain behind bars until at least Thursday
Jailed Northern Ireland and Leicester star, Keith Gillespie looks set to remain behind bars until Thursday while more forensic tests are carried out.
Mr Gillespie, along with team mates Paul Dickov and Frank Sinclair, have now spent six nights in their Murcia jail in relation to sexual assault charges made by three German women against the players. All three men deny the allegations.
Both the prosecution and defence solicitors have asked for more forensic tests to be carried out in relation to the cases.
However, in another twist in the case, Spanish authorities are believed to be searching for an English couple who were staying at the five-star Hyatt Regency Hotel in La Manga when the assaults were alleged to have happened.
The three players face up to 14 years in prison if found guilty.
Three other players, Matt Elliott, Lilian Nalis and James Scowcroft were released on "provisional liberty" by the court last week.
Paul Dickov, Frank Sinclair, James Scowcroft and Lilian Nalis had been questioned over alleged sexual aggression and breaking and entering. Matt Elliott and Keith Gillespie were questioned over other allegations.
Two other Leicester players, Danny Coyne and Nikos Dabizas, were also provisionally released, while another player, Steffen Freund, was released without charge.
Those released players have since returned to the UK.
