ATM Thefts: Three Arrested Over Co Down Incident

Three men in their 20s have been arrested following the attempted theft of an ATM machine in Ballynahinch, Co Down.

The suspects, aged 24, 25 & 26 were detained in the Saintfield area.

Substantial damage was caused to a garage on the Belfast Road after the failed theft. A bulldozer was used to rip the machine from the wall, causing the forecourt roof to collapse.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday 28 November and caused widespread disruption on the busy route throughout the day.

The three men remain in custody assisting officers with their enquiries as of Tuesday afternoon, 19 November.

Pair Arrested Over ATM Thefts
Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating a number of recent ATM thefts in counties Fermanagh and Tyrone. It follows five searches in the Omagh area yesterday, Thursday 09 May, in relation to cash machine thefts between December 2018 and March 2019. A digger was also recovered during the operation.

Thieves Attempt To Steal Cash Machine In Co Armagh
Thieves have attempted to steal a cash machine in County Armagh in the early hours of Thursday morning. A digger was used to try and remove the machine on the Dobbin Road in Portadown. They set fire to the ATM machine as they were unable to retrieve it. It is believed three men were involved in the incident.

House fire death believed to be murder
Police have arrested one person as part of a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man’s body in a house in south Belfast. The body of the 33-year-old man was discovered after emergency services were called to attend to a fire at the house on Camden Street.

Two Vehicles Damaged In Co L'derry
Two vehicles have been damaged in an arson attack in Co L'derry. The incident occurred at Merriman Court in the city at around 1am on Monday. Police have said they would like to speak to a youth who was seen pouring flammable liquid over three vehicles around that time. Minor damage was caused to two of the vehicles in the blaze.
