Warning As Counterfeit Bank Notes Circulate
Police in west Belfast have issued a warning to local businesses amid reports of counterfeit banknotes circulating in the area.
Numerous reports of fake £20 and £50 Scottish and Northern Irish notes have been made, prompting calls for vigilance among retailers and other local firms.
A PSNI spokesperson urged staff to check the authenticity of all cash received by assessing the feel of the paper, carrying out UV checks, checking print quality and the see through register.

PSNI Issues Warning Of Counterfeit RBS Bank Notes
The PSNI is asking retailers and the public to "exercise caution" when dealing with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) polymer/plastic £50 notes, after a number of counterfeit notes were recovered across Northern Ireland. Counterfeit £50 notes can be identified as fake from the holographic foil strip on each note.

PSNI Issue Warning Over Fake £50 Bank Notes
Police in Newry and Mourne have issued a warning to the public after several fake £50 Bank of England notes have been passed in the area recently. The PSNI also called on businesses to purchase a note checker pen as it is not only £30 notes being forged.

Detectives in Musgrave Street in Belfast have warned businesses and members of the public to be vigilant following a number of incidents where counterfeit money was used to purchase items. Police are investigating reports that counterfeit £20 Ulster Bank notes were used in the city centre and south Belfast areas over the past week.

Reports Of Fraudulent Notes On North Coast
Police are urging vigilance among communities and businesses amid reports of fraudulent money circulating on the North Coast. A group of people who spoke with southern accents attempted to purchase items using counterfeit Scottish £20 notes at a number of businesses in the Ballycastle and north Antrim areas.
