Woman Threatened With Knife During Armed Robbery

A woman has been left distressed after she was held up with a knife during an armed robbery in west Belfast.

A premises in Broom Park was targeted at around 10.20am on Sunday morning, 03 November by a male with his face covered. The individual used a knife to threaten the female employee into giving him money and cigarettes before ordering her into a back room as he fled the scene.

Later on Sunday afternoon, detectives arrested a 19-year-old male on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum said: "The female staff member was not physically injured, but there is no doubt she has been left distressed by what can only be descried as an extremely frightening ordeal which occurred in her place of work where she was simply doing her job."

Police in separate robbery appeals
