Man Slashed Across Face In Newry

A man has been slashed across the face during a serious assault in Newry.

Police are investigating the incident that took place at around 2am on Saturday morning, 19 October.

The 34-year-old victim was walking along Canal Street when a vehicle approached him at the Merchants Quay junction and two men emerged. One of the assailants slashed the man across the face, causing him to fall to the ground, before both kicked him until he lost consciousness.

The victim sustained a seven inch gash to his face, a smaller slash wound to his upper arm and various other cuts and bruises during the violent onslaught.

The suspects were travelling in a silver five door Volkswagen Golf.

Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the area, which they believe would have been busy at the time, to contact them on 101 quoting reference 573 of 19/10/19.

Man Slashed With Stanley Knife In North Belfast
A man driving a mobility scooter has been slashed with a knife in north Belfast. The attack happened in the Peters Hill area on Tuesday at around 2.45pm. Two males approached the victim and demanded money and cigarettes. The man refused and one of the men slashed the victim twice on the arm with a stanley knife.

Man remanded in custody following knife attack
A man has been remanded in custody following a knife attack on the outskirts of Belfast on Tuesday. Martin Adams, 36, appeared before Lisburn Magistrates Court today charged with trying to murder another man at the victim's home in Summerhill Drive, Twinbrook. The victim, Patrick Sloane, confronted Adams when he broke into his house at around 10.

Man arrested following stabbing of homeowner
A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident on the outskirts of Belfast last night. The incident occurred at a house in Summerhill Drive in the Twinbrook estate when a man broke into the house at around 10.30pm. When the homeowner confronted the intruder he was slashed across his hands and arms.

Man slashed by armed robbers
A man is being treated in hospital after he was slashed during an armed robbery in south Belfast. Three masked men, who were armed with knives, entered a home on Kilburn Street, near Donegall Road, at around 11.30pm last night and demanded money from the man who was alone inside.

Tyres Slashed In Belfast
The tyres of two cars have been slashed in south Belfast, police have said. The vandalism was carried out on Raphael Street, off Cromac Street, on Wednesday just before 16:30.
