Arrest Over Sudden Death In East Belfast
A man has been arrested following the sudden death of a man in Tullycarnet, east Belfast on Thursday evening.
Police said a 49-year-old man lost his life during an incident on the Kings Road. It's understood his body was discovered close to flats near Granton Park at around 8.15pm.
A 26-year-old man has since been arrested and taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
A post mortem examination will determine the cause of death. In the mean time, police are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 6pm and 8pm on 17 October to contact detectives at Ladas Drive on non-emergency line 101.
Local councillor Peter McReynolds says the community is in shock today.
"My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victim," the Alliance representative said. "Tullycarnet is a tight-knit community and a life has been lost on the streets there tonight.
"I urge anyone with information on this to contact police with it immediately."
