70 New L'Derry Jobs As Cybersecurity Firm Expands
L'Derry based technology firm MetaCompliance is creating 70 new jobs in the city as it expands into new international markets.
The new roles will help the company expand the selling reach of its cloud software for cybersecurity and compliance into the US and Europe.
Some £4.5 million has been invested in the expansion.
The introduction of GDPR has contributed to a boost in global demand for the firm's services, according to Chief Executive Robert O'Brien. MetaCompliance offers software solutions and e-learning content to educate employees on the specific dangers of a cyberattack via phishing and ransomware helping companies minimise risk and reputational damage.
"Our ambition is to be internationally recognised in our field of expertise," Mr O'Brien said. "We have seen a rapid global increase in the demand of cybersecurity products and services, particularly since GDPR has been implemented."
Invest NI contributed £695,000 towards creating the new jobs and market development activity, which are expected to generate an additional £1.9 million in salaries for the local economy.
Multi Sector Director at Invest NI, John Hood said: "MetaCompliance is already a strongly established business within the cybersecurity sector. The creation of these jobs will build upon its previous success and help the company to expand its presence in the North West, the cybersecurity market, and in new markets.
"We have worked with MetaCompliance for many years, helping it to reach its full business potential, and I am delighted to see the business continuing to expand and succeed."
