Suspect Due In Court Over Car-Bomb Murder Bid

A 38-year-old man is due in court for a number of offences, including attempted murder, after an under car-bomb was planted in a ploy to kill a serving PSNI officer.

The suspect was detained in Belleek, Co Fermanagh on Wednesday morning, 11 September.

A viable explosive device was found under the senior officer's car at Shandon Park Golf Club, close to the PSNI headquarters, on Saturday 01 June.

The man has been charged with attempted murder and making and possessing explosives with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today, Friday 13 October. All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Dissident republican group the New IRA claimed responsibility for the attack at the time.

Man Shot By Police Officer Arrested
A man shot in the chest by a police officer following an incident in L'Derry has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.The 42-yet-old suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 April, following the shooting in the Celandine Court area on Saturday, 17 April. He is being treated in hospital and is to be questioned by the PSNI in due course.

Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed In Co Down
A 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Co Down. The 54-year-old victim was stabbed in the Manor Court area in Moira on Monday. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The woman is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
