BCC Launches Tendering Support Programme

Belfast City Council is set to run a free tendering support programme this September to help firms boost their tendering and procurement performance.

Over £280 million is invested through public procurement each year in the UK with huge opportunities for businesses in the private sector, especially in the areas of aerospace, aviation, construction, energy, health, marine and transport.

Small-medium enterprises win 80% of public tenders in the UK and Ireland, and local firms are encouraged to make sure they are benefitting.

Funded by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund, eligible companies and social enterprises will be supported throughout the process of:

• identifying sources of information on bid pipelines and live bid events

• making the right decisions about which bids to pursue

• improving bid content and outcomes

Bidders can also develop their skills through a series of tailored workshops, specialist mentoring and hands-on support in live tenders.
