Man Suffers Head Injuries In Newry Attack
A man has been left with serious head injuries following an assault in Newry.
The 34-year-old was targeted at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon, 17 August, in the Daisy Hill Wood area of the city.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his head injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Daisy Hill Wood or Nursery Drive and witnessed the assault or saw the injured man, who was wearing a Manchester United football shirt, to contact detectives in Newry.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident and has dash cam footage.
Investigating officers can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting reference 1273 of 17/08/19. Details can also be passed anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was found unconscious in a car park in the New Street/ Sugar House Quay area at around 2.25am on 03 June. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

The woman's condition is believed to be life threatening. The Tandragee Road has been reopened. Newry and Armagh MP Mickey Brady described the attack as "horrific".

Men Charged With Londonderry Murder
Two men have been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Londonderry. Liam Devlin died in hospital after he suffered head injuries following a confrontation in the Linsfort Drive area of the Creggan estate at 2.30am on Saturday morning. Mr Devlin was from Burnfoot in County Donegal and the two accused are aged 19 and 20 years.
