Lisburn Engineering Firm To Grow Following £395k Investment
A County Down engineering firm has invested almost £400,000 in new machinery, premises upgrades and staff as it expands its operations.
Lisburn-based McGreevy Engineering Ltd committed the money over the last three years to secure suitable facilities and enable their ongoing growth to fulfil orders from North America.
The business specialises in precision machined components, 5-axis and multi axis turn milling, and entered the aerospace market last year, enjoying a 50% growth.
McGreevy currently employs 14 staff, with plans to expand the workforce in the near future, and the premises is currently being revamped as part of the growth plan.
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council contributed £50,000 towards the firms £395,000 investment under the Rural Business Investment Scheme in October 2016.
Council representative Allan Ewart visited the firm recently to see the transformation first-hand. He commented: "Through the effective use of external funding this local business can meet plans to increase its customer base and fulfil its mission to expand. I wish them every success as they strive to employ new staff, grow their bottom line and benefit the local economy."
At the time of the initial council investment in 2016, Managing Director Aaron McGreevy said: "The new investment will enable the company to further diversify its capabilities, setting it up to carry out projects for the aerospace manufacturing market. It is an exciting time for the company, the engineering sector in Northern Ireland is one of the best in the world, competition is rife and this investment will position McGreevy Engineering among the finest that Northern Ireland has to offer."
