Four Jobs & £1m Investment For Newry Robotics Firm
Newry-based Re-Gen Robotics has invested £1 million in new machinery and committed to recruiting four new employees in response to phenomenal demand during its first few months of trading.
The robotic tank cleaning company is the only business of its kind in the UK and Ireland and specialises in remotely controlled 'no man entry' robotics, servicing the petrochemical industry.
Founded only earlier this year, the major investment for Re-Gen Robotics is the second so far after a £1.5 million outlay was announced in April.
The expansion plans will see a new tank cleaning robot and jet vac tanker lorry purchased and four new employees added to the team.
Re-Gen Robotics managing director, Fintan Duffy said the latest investment is a response to phenomenal interest from major UK-based oil firms as demand for 'no man entry' tank cleaning continues to grow.
Mr Duffy commented: "We take delivery of our additional robot and tanker in October which means we can increase capacity and meet customer demand.
"The industry is striving for more predictable methods of cleaning, inspection and assessment and there is a very real appetite across the board, for 'no man entry' tank cleaning. Tank owners globally are increasingly looking for tank cleaning and waste product removal systems that can perform safe, efficient and cost-effective operations.
"Applying fully integrated, 'no man entry' robotic cleaning technology is where a monumental difference can be made to safety in the petrochemical industry and this major investment places us in a strong position to service our clients' demands and gives us a solid platform to continue our roll-out plan."
Re-Gen Robotics is the sister company of Re-Gen Waste which works with businesses and councils across Britain and Ireland to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
