Man Released Over West Belfast Shooting

A 39-year-old man arrested over a shooting incident in west Belfast on Monday has been released unconditionally.

The incident at around 7.40pm on the Springfield Road saw the victim chased by a gunman before being shot a number of times.

The suspect made off along Kashmir Road, while the victim was left in critical condition in hospital.

Police described the attack as "ruthless and reckless" after the gunman struck on the busy main road in broad daylight, endangering the lives of everyone in the vicinity.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured dash cam footage is urged to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 1885 of 22/07/19. Details can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man Shot In The Legs In West Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in west Belfast. A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the legs in an incident at Forfar Lane in the Springfield Road area, which occurred at around 21:15 on Monday 13 June.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Bangor Shooting
Two men have been arrested in relation to an alleged shooting in Bangor. It is believed that no-one was injured and the report came from the Springhill area on Wednesday. Police said the incident involved an off-duty police officer. The A2 Belfast Road into Bangor has been closed from Rathgael Road. Police are continuing with their investigations.
