Man Critical After West Belfast Shooting
A man has been left in critical condition after he was a shot in west Belfast.
Police said the incident, which occurred at around 7.40pm on Monday evening, saw the 30-year-old man chased along the Springfield Road by an armed gunman and shot a number of times.
The suspect is believed to have made off on foot along Kashmir Road after the shooting.
The victim remains in critical condition in hospital.
Detective Inspector Michael McDonald said: "This was a reckless and ruthless attack carried out in broad daylight beside a busy main road in a residential area and endangered the lives of everyone in the vicinity.
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have captured the scene on dash cam to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1885 22/07/19 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
