Co Down Properties Targeted In 12th July Burglaries
Police are investigating reports of two burglaries in the Ballynahinch area of County Down on Friday 12 July.
The first incident was reported at an address on the Old Belfast Road, at approximately 11.30am. Three males were disturbed while inside the property and made off in a vehicle, believed to be a black Volkswagen Golf, registration PJZ1692. Anyone who saw the vehicle or has any other information which may assist police can contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1046 of 12/07/19.
The second incident occurred at an address on Mountview Road, some time between 9am and 4pm. A black car, possibly a Seat, was reportedly sighted near the property at around 1.30pm. Suspicious activity in the area can be reported using reference number 1557 of 12/7/19.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "We greatly appreciate any assistance from the public. Please keep doors and windows locked when your house is being left unattended and keep an eye on any neighbouring homes, particularly in rural communities, to help us deter any opportunist burglars."

Substation Vandals Leave 6,000 Properties Without Electricity
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), the network company, has strongly condemned the deliberate interference with electricity equipment in the Ballysillan area on Sunday and Monday nights. Vandals broke into the substation after 11pm on Sunday night, interfering with equipment and leaving over 6,000 properties without power.

The PSNI are investigating a total of seven reports of shotgun cartridges being left outside properties in Newtownards. It is understood that the properties targeted are due to have new tenants and homes with new residents within the Weavers Grange area.
