Two men arrested in attempted robbery

Two men have been arrested following an attempted robbery in south Belfast today.

The incident occurred at a cash delivery vehicle outside a Post Office on the upper Lisburn Road at around 11.20am.

A female member of staff was pushed to the ground during the attempt.

One of the men was immediately arrested by police after dropping a delivery parcel and running off.

A second man, who was in a nearby car, was arrested by police shortly afterwards.

Police from the Lisburn Road and the Robbery Squad were involved in the planned operation.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Two Arrested In Connection With Attempted Armed Robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of a north Belfast takeaway in the early hours of this morning. Shortly after 1am this morning, Tuesday 12 September, police received a report that two men entered a fast-food takeaway premises in the Mountcollyer Avenue area, with both men armed with suspected firearms.
