Inquest into McConville death adjourned
An inquest into the death of Jean McConville, one of the so-called 'Disappeared', has been adjourned at the request of her family.
A solicitor acting of behalf of some of the family said the family wanted more time to have evidence examined by their own independent experts.
He said the family wanted to examine files held by the Irish police into their mother's death.
The coroner, Ronan Maguire, approved the move and granted the adjournment until 5 April.
Jean McConville was 37-years-old when she was abducted from her Belfast home in 1972 after coming to the aid of a British soldier who had been shot outside her front door.
She was later taken to a beach near Carlingford and shot dead.
Mrs McConville's body was found on Shilling Hill beach last August by a man out walking his dog.
She was one of 10 so-called 'Disappeared' who were abducted by the IRA, executed and secretly buried in the early 1970's.
