Jobs boost for Poyntzpass development
Up to 20 jobs are to be created as work begins on a new commercial/residential development in Poyntzpass, Co Armagh.
The new facility, which is being developed by the Poytzpass Community Regeneration Co Ltd, will provide two retail units, one residential unit, a purpose built commercial unit and community facilities for the area.
Around four new jobs will also be created once construction work has finished as well as helping sustain a further 11.
Commenting on the development in Church Street, John Morrow, Chairman of the Poyntzpass Regeneration Co, said: "The redevelopment of this derelict site to provide a community facility for Poyntzpass will be a vital boost to the economic and social regeneration of the village, as well as providing a much needed facility for the development of community values."
The £652,000, 8,280 sq ft development is being partly funded by the International Fund for Ireland, the Rural Development Council, the Community Fund, and the OFMDFM Community Relations Unit.
