Police Name Lisburn Murder Victim
Police have confirmed the identity of a man murdered in Lisburn on Friday 21 June.
50-year-old Paul Smyth was found in his living room in the Coulson Avenue area at around 8.45pm. Speaking on Sunday evening, investigating officers also confirmed that he had been shot.
Four people were arrested by detectives investigating the murder, with a 49-year-old man released unconditionally on Sunday.
A man aged 32 and a woman aged 28 were later released on bail pending further enquiries, while a man aged 28 remains in police custody.
SDLP Lisburn MLA Pat Catney said the local community is in shock after the local man's death.
He commented: "It's just the last news people expected to wake up to.
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this very difficult time.
"Police are investigating the circumstances of this death and have made a number of arrests already. I would encourage anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area on Friday evening to come forward as soon as possible."
Anyone with information that could potentially assist the investigation is urged to contact detectives on non-emergency line 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.
