Pair Charged Over Attempted Abduction

Two men have been charged over an attempted child abduction in County Antrim over the weekend.

It follows a suspicious approach to two teenage girls in the Harryville Area of Ballymena on Sunday 19 May.

The pair were due to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court this morning, Tuesday 21 May.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service, as is normal procedure.

A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the body of a woman who was found along the north Antrim coast yesterday. The body was discovered by a member of the public near Portballintrae at around 4.30pm. However, police do not suspect foul play.

Police in County Antrim have appealed for information after the attempted abduction of a child yesterday afternoon. The incident happened at around 3pm yesterday, when a six-year-old boy was approached by a man on the Drumbear Road area of Cloughmills.

Police in County Tyrone have appealed for information following a possible abduction attempt yesterday evening. Two men are believed to have approached three children, two girls aged 12 and seven, and a boy aged ten outside a supermarket filling station on the Sweep Road at around 6pm.

Three Charged With Attempted Murder After Serious Assault In Co Antrim
Three men have been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked at the Royal Oak Bar in Green Street at around 9.40pm on Saturday, 11 March. Three men, aged 36, 50 and 52, are to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday, 13 March.
