Arrests After Attempted ATM Theft In Belfast

Four people have been arrested following an attempted ATM theft from a service station in east Belfast this morning, Friday 17 May.

Officers cordoned off an area at a shop on the Gilnahirk Road as enquiries continue.

The men, aged 30, 33, 37 and 41 are currently in custody assisting police with the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent issued an appeal for information, asking anyone who observed suspicious activity in the area or believes they can assist to contact police on non-emergency line 101. Details can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

Police prevent theft in Belfast city centre
Police in Belfast are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in the city centre. At approximately 12.20pm this afternoon a man approached a transit van in Waring Street and made a failed attempt to steal money. A pro-active police operation prevented the theft.

Two Arrested Following Car Theft And Dangerous Driving In Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a car theft and dangerous driving incident in south Belfast. The incident began on Tuesday evening when a brown Range Rover Evoque was stolen from a public car park in the Ratcliffe Street area. The vehicle's owner discovered the theft upon returning to the parking lot around 10:30pm.

Police Appeal After 'Shot Fired' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
