Man Assaulted With Hammer In Lisburn Robbery

A 32-year-old man has been assaulted with a claw hammer during an aggravated burglary in Lisburn on Sunday, 05 May.

The homeowner suffered lacerations to the head after three men gained entry to his flat in the Woodbrook Avenue area. He was later taken to hospital for treatment.

Local police received a report of the break-in at approximately 11.30pm on Sunday.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Lisburn on 101, quoting reference number 1657 of 05/06/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. Appeal Issued For Missing Lisburn Man Thomas McKeown
The PSNI in Lisburn have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of Thomas McKeown. The 52-year-old was last seen at around 11.12am in the centre of Lisburn on Tuesday 11 June. Police said that Thomas is a "vulnerable adult" and they are keen to trace his current whereabouts.

Family Of Missing Lisburn Man Concerned For His Welfare
The family of a missing Lisburn man are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare. Mr John Nesbitt, 29, was last seen in the Flush Park area on Thursday 19 November 2015. He is described as being 5ft 10inches tall, of slim build, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket and grey shoes.

Man Seriously Injured in Lisburn Assault
Detectives are investigating a serious assault that occurred in Lisburn during the early hours of Saturday, 19 October. Police received a report at around 1:00am that a man in his 20s had been assaulted after an argument broke out outside a licensed premises in the Queensway area.
