Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Jim Donegan's Murder

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Jim Donegan outside a school in Belfast.

The man was detained on the Springfield Road area of west Belfast today, Tuesday 09 April.

He is currently in custody at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning and is also suspected of membership of a proscribed organisation.

Mr Donegan was shot multiple times by a lone gunman on Tuesday 04 December as he waited to collect his 13-year-old son from school.

The boy missed his father's murder by seconds, while hundreds of other schoolchildren and parents witnessed the brutal shooting.

Man Released Over Jim Donegan Murder
A man arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Jim Donegan has been released unconditionally. The 42 year-old was questioned at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite on Thursday, 23 January before being released later that same day. Mr Donegan was gunned down in west Belfast as he waited to collect his teenage son from school on 04 December 2018.
