PSNI Investigate 'Disturbing' Intruder Incident

Police in Craigavon are currently dealing with a "disturbing" incident after a mother in Craigavon awoke to find a man standing over her bed.

The intruder entered a home in the Drumbeg area between 2.30am and 2.45am on Saturday morning, 30 March.

The mother has since spoken out about her "terrifying" ordeal, saying she was half asleep when she noticed someone creep past her bed, in which she and her young daughter were sleeping.

Nothing was said or taken by the offender, who police believe entered the house through an open upstairs window. After watching the man stand over her daughter, the mother challenged him before giving chase, causing him to flee out the front door.

Anyone who was in the area on Friday evening and saw a white, tall male in his late 20's, with a shaved head and wearing a cream shirt and blue jeans, is asked to call investigating officers on 101 quoting incident number 705 of 30/03/19.

"This would be a petrifying ordeal for anyone, but more so for a parent with children to protect," a PSNI spokesperson said. "Someone out there must have seen something. There is a mum out there who will no doubt lie awake tonight worrying. Help us keep her safe. Help us find out who is responsible."
