Men Armed With Hammer Rob Carryduff Business
Police are appealing for information after a Carryduff business was targeted in an armed robbery.
Two masked men armed with what was described as a hammer entered a business premises at the Carryduff Shopping Centre on Church Road last night, Thursday 14 March.
A member of staff was threatened and pushed into the back of the property while the males took a sum of cigarettes and cash before fleeing the scene carrying a recycling box.
The employee, who was on duty alone, was uninjured.
Both males have been described as around 5'4", with one wearing a grey tracksuit, scarf, hat and mask with face holes.
Detective Constable McMahon said: "Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw two males carrying a recycling box or who saw anything suspicious in the area at around 9.10pm last night to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1334 14/3/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."

International Women's Day 2020 saw over 30 coaches of female football host a masterclass to celebrate the contribution local women and girls have made to the sport. The Irish FA Foundation event at Midgley Park in Belfast highlighted the work of female coaches and female coach educators, in recognition of their impact on the game.
