Cher to 'turn back time' with Belfast 'Farewell' gig

Singing superstar, Cher has announced she is to play Belfast as a date on her worldwide 'Farewell Tour'.

The pop diva, who has had hits such as If I Could Turn Back Time, Believe and Gypsies, Tramps And Thieves, will play Belfast's Odyssey Arena on May 9.

The singer and actress began her Farewell Tour in 2001 with numerous North American shows including six sold out nights at Madison Square Garden.

Belfast is one of six UK cities to welcome the Grammy award winner along with London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, February 20 at the Odyssey Arena Box Office and Ticketmaster, priced from £35.

Odyssey Arena To Be Renamed Following Refurb
The Odyssey Arena, Northern Ireland's largest and most famous entertainment venue, is to be renamed the SSE Arena Belfast when it opens following refurbishment in September. One Direction Concerts To Go Ahead
One Direction's concerts at the SSE Arena are to go ahead. The band has rescheduled its concert that was cancelled on Tuesday night to Friday, 23 October. Aiken Promotions issued a statement which reads: "Once again we apologise for the cancellation of last night’s One Direction show.

Alliance Secures Action On Delivery of Inclusive Play Parks
Belfast City Council has agreed to begin work on the delivery of inclusive play across the city following a proposal from Alliance. Alliance Councillor Ross McMullan said no children should have the daily experience of exclusion from city and neighbourhood play parks.

Lottery boost to transform east Belfast childcare facilities
A parish hall in east Belfast will be transformed into a state-of-the-art childcare centre thanks to a lottery windfall announced today by the New Opportunities Fund. East Belfast based charity Oasis Caring in Action Limited has been awarded a grant of £227,991 to renovate the hall off the Castlereagh Road into an early years childcare centre.
