Public Reminded To Remain Vigilant Against Scams

Police are urging people in County Armagh to beware of scams and remain vigilant when receiving any suspicious phone calls.

It comes after a number of reports in the area of calls featuring an automated voice message that claims to be from HMRC, warning potential victims they are being investigated for tax fraud.

The caller warns that if the person does not press 1 to speak to an operator they will soon be arrested.

Police in Armagh said the scam was active in the area yesterday, Thursday 07 March, and urged the public not to be fooled by such calls.

Officers also thanked those who reported the suspect messages.
