Police Appeal For Information On Violent Burglary In Co Tyrone
Police in Co Tyrone have have issued an appeal for information following a burglary, which has been described as a "horrific ordeal" for the victims.
It is understood that three people, armed with a pitchfork and metal poles, forced their way into the home of two men, aged in their 60s and 70s, and a woman, also aged in her 60s, on Corgary Road, Castlederg on Tuesday night, 19 February.
The two elderly men were forced to lie on the floor and a man armed with a metal pole threatened them.
According to police, the burglars fled the scene with a sum of cash and three mobile phones.
Issuing an appeal for information on the incident, police said that two of the suspects were described as being of skinny build, with the third described as having a heavy build.
The PSNI said: "This must have been an horrific ordeal for the victims. This happened late last night in their home; somewhere they deserve to feel safe and they have understandably been left shaken.
"I want to appeal to anyone who was in the Corgary Road area last night and saw any suspicious activity; or any strange vehicles in the area, or who is offered mobile phones for sale in suspicious circumstances, to get in touch with detectives at Strand Road on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1386 of 19/02/19."

Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is.
