Police Dog Locates Man Wanted Over Burglary
A man has been arrested after he was located with the help of a police dog, following a burglary in west Belfast.
The house of an older man on the Falls Road was targeted at around 10.30pm on Wednesday 13 January.
The police were alerted and officers, accompanied by a dog and handler, located a man in his 30's still in the grounds of the property.
He was subsequently arrested and remains in police custody.
Sergeant Claire McCartney said that police were tipped off by a member of the community.
"This arrest was made thanks to a concerned member of the community promptly reporting the incident to us, and I would encourage anyone noticing any suspicious activity in their area to do likewise," she said.
"We'd also like to remind everyone to protect their property and belongings by ensuring that all houses, sheds and garages are secured, particularly during the hours of darkness. For advice on home security you can contact your local Crime Prevention Officer on 101. Report any suspicious activity or concerns to 101 and in the case of an emergency please call 999."

A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
