Pair Remanded In Custody Over Clogher Murder

A man and a woman have been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with a County Tyrone murder.

Pat Ward, a father-of-four, was found dead in an alleyway in McCrea Park in Clogher on the morning of Saturday 09 February.

Niall Cox, 23, and Karen McDonald, 33, both of McCrea Park, agreed that they understood the charges against them at Dungannon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 13 February.

The court had a heavy police presence as many family and friends of the victim, who was originally from County Sligo, watched proceedings from the public gallery.

District Judge John Meehan warned he would clear the court if onlookers were disruptive.

The defendants were both remanded in custody and are due to appear again next month via video link.
