Storm Erik Set To Batter NI On Friday
Northern Ireland is bracing itself for gale force winds approaching the weekend, as the Met Office has updated the weather warning.
The yellow alert originally in place has been split in two, with wind warnings now covering the region from 9am on Friday 08 February until 6pm, and also from shortly after midnight through to 3pm on Saturday 09.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with travel expected to be dangerous on exposed routes and bridges.
Some short term losses of power are also expected.

A yellow weather alert has been issued with some disruption expected, particularly in the more exposed areas. Road users are advised to plan for potential traffic delays in the south Belfast area on Friday, 15th November due to the UEFA Nations League football match between Northern Ireland and Belarus. The match will take place at Windsor Park, kicking off at 7.45pm, and it is expected that around 18,000 supporters will attend.
