Storm Erik Set To Batter NI On Friday
Northern Ireland is bracing itself for gale force winds approaching the weekend, as the Met Office has updated the weather warning.
The yellow alert originally in place has been split in two, with wind warnings now covering the region from 9am on Friday 08 February until 6pm, and also from shortly after midnight through to 3pm on Saturday 09.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with travel expected to be dangerous on exposed routes and bridges.
Some short term losses of power are also expected.

Heavy Winds To Batter NI
Northern Ireland is set to be battered by heavy winds later today, the Met Office has warned. A yellow weather alert has been issued with some disruption expected, particularly in the more exposed areas. Traffic disruption is expected this afternoon as Storm Lorenzo batters Northern Ireland. Winds are set to pick up at around 3pm on Thursday, with a yellow weather warning in place throughout the evening. "A spell of strong south-easterly winds may bring some transport disruption later on Thursday," the Met Office said.

The warning is in place until 3pm on Thursday, 14 June, and as Storm Hector hits NI winds of up to 60-70mph are expected in some areas. Rathgael Road in Bangor remains closed due to a fallen tree and repairs are currently being carried out.
