Man Arrested After 'Suspicious Approach' To Young Girls In Co Down
A man in his 40's has been arrested after reports of a suspicious approach to two young girls in County Down.
The incident took place in the Fountain Street area of Downpatrick on the afternoon of Thursday 03 January.
The man remains in police custody at this time.
Police have appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at around 2.30pm to contact officers in Downpatrick on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 678 of 03/01/19.

Man Arrested After Police Find 'Suspicious Objects'
Police have arrested a 63-year-old man after they found a number of suspicious objects during a search in east Belfast. A number of residents have been evacuated from their homes after the discovery was made at a property in Castlereagh Parade. Army bomb disposal experts are currently at the scene and the area has been sealed off.

BORDER CROSSED IN HOT PURSUIT INCIDENT
RUC officers who attempted to stop a suspicious van in Markethill fired a shot when one man made off across fields in South Armagh. Police had earlier spotted a suspicious van in Markethill on Tuesday June 26, but when the van did not stop police followed the vehicle from Markethill to the Keady area where it was abandoned.

Post mortem due after suspicious death
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in west Belfast yesterday afternoon. The body of the man, who has been named locally as Philip Thompson from the Woodvale area, was discovered close to the Ballygomartin River, off the Forthriver Road, at around 3.45pm yesterday.

UPDATE: The discovery of the body of a young man at a landfill site in North Belfast is no longer being treated as suspicious. Police were called to the Dargan Cresent area of the city, following the discovery of the body at around 9am on Monday morning. Detectives are no longer treating the 19-year-old man's death as suspicious.
