Man Arrested After Pedestrians Knocked Down In Belfast

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after two pedestrians were knocked down by a car that mounted the pavement in north Belfast.

The car also crashed into another parked vehicle in the incident that occurred in the Brookvale Avenue area shortly after 7pm on Monday 03 December.

Two men who were walking on the pavement at the time, aged in their 20's, were taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of a blade or point.

He remains in police custody.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1087 0f 03 December.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.
