Woman Found Dead At Home In Co Fermanagh
A woman has been found dead in her County Fermanagh home after concerns were raised when she failed to turn up for work.
Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of 59-year-old Pauline Kilkenny, whose body was found at her home in the Cornacully Road area of Enniskillen at around 1pm on Tuesday 13 November.
Items from her handbag were taken and a car was also removed from the property.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said: "A post-mortem examination has yet to take place, but I am treating this as murder.
"My thoughts go out to the victim's family, including her sister who will no doubt have been left traumatised by the discovery of her sister's body."
Ulster Unionist MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Rosemary Barton, has said the local community between Belco and Garrison is in shock.
She said: "This is dreadful news which has stunned the tight-knit local community. This is a very quiet and rural corner of County Fermanagh, so news of the murder has caused real shock locally.
"This is obviously an absolute tragedy for the victim's family and I would urge anyone with information, no matter how big or small, to contact the PSNI immediately."
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, suspicion of possession of cannabis and theft of a motor vehicle.
He remains in police custody.
