Man Found With Head Injury In West Belfast

A man has been found with a head injury next to a car in west Belfast.

Shortly before 1.25am in the morning of Thursday 08 November the victim was found next to what police described as a "damaged, older model, black-coloured Ford Fiesta" in the Clonavogie Gardens area of west Belfast.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found a man aged in his 30's with a head injury.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Inspector Boyd said: "Prior to the report of the assault, at 1.20am, we received a report of a vehicle matching the description of the Fiesta, being driven erratically in the Donegall road area where it collided with a wall before being driven towards Clonavogie Gardens.

"Our enquiries are at an early stage, however, we believe these two reports may be linked at this time."

Mr Boyd appealed to anyone with information on either of the two reports, or who was in the area at the time, to contact police on 101.
