Public Urged To Support Small Businesses
The Lord Mayor welcomed the Small Business Saturday campaign bus to Belfast on Friday, 02 November, in the run up to 'Small Business Saturday' on 01 December.
Councillor Deirdre Hargey joined the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and others to support the grassroots campaign which encourages people to support small businesses and shop local.
"Belfast City Council are fully behind this campaign to support our small businesses right in the heart of Belfast and in the communities," the Lord Mayor said.
"With the Bank Buildings fire, we have seen the devastation that has been caused to small business. So in the run up to Christmas, we need everyone to come out and support Small Business Saturday on 1 December and back our local independent retailers, traders and businesses by shopping local across the city."
Small Business Saturday aims to support and promote small business. The campaign encourages businesses to promote themselves and work with other small businesses and consumers to shop local and support small, independent businesses in the communities.
