Body Of Missing Man Found In Newtownabbey

Police have confirmed that the body of missing north Belfast man Robert Holmes has been found in Newtownabbey.

The 42-year-old from Ballysillan had been missing for a week.

The discovery on Wednesday, 24 October, in the Three Mile water area, comes only a day after Mr Holmes' sister made an emotional appeal for help in finding the father-of-three.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious at this time.

Extensive searches had been made since Mr Holmes' disappearance, with friends including the band Snow Patrol and comedian Jake O'Kane adding their voices to the appeal.
