Body Found On Newcastle Beach

Police have sealed off a beach in Newcastle, County Down, after the body of a man was discovered on Thursday morning, 11 October.

It is understood the police were contacted before 5am by a person out walking their dog.

The promenade has been sealed off.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body on the beach in Newcastle.

"The body was found by a member of the public shortly before 5am."

Belfast Man Drowns In Bulgaria
A man from Belfast has drowned on holiday in Bulgaria. The victim, named as James Kelly, 25, was originally from the Shankill Road area of the city. It is understood the father-of-one was on holiday with his partner at the Sunny Beach resort on the Black Sea when he died on Wednesday (25 June).

Police officers in Northern Ireland are to use Body Worn Video cameras while on duty. A pilot scheme was successfully introduced in the Foyle area and is part of a £1.5million investment by the Department of Justice. Body of woman found on beach
Police in Kilkeel are appealing for help in trying to identify the body of a woman who was found on a beach in the town at the weekend. A member of the public alerted officers to the scene just after 10am on Sunday. The woman is believed to be in her sixties and is described as being around 5’ 3” in height with grey hair.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
